Life is not a one way street
with bumps and twists
a road just meant for you
this narrow road
with bumps and twistsis meant for all to share
you make place for some,
or wait behind and watch the others go
then someone comes along and stops
and clears the way for you.
our journey in this world
is tough
we cannot do it on our own.
we need the help
and love we get
from strangers and our friends
but once we get ahead in life
and on our chosen path
we soon forget
the ones who helped and slogged
with us
along the way.
life is not a one way street
where all the time we get.
we take and take and take and take;
with not a thought to spare
that life is not a one way street:
we need to do our share.
