Even though I live in Mumbai where there are more people than trees, I am fortunate to literally be above it all.
On a clear day, from my balcony you really can see forever, long into the distant mainland . We can see the craggy mountain of Karnala Sanctuary far away and the oil pipe line going into the sea closer to home.
But around 10 years ago the Bungalow below us began to grow and grow and grow to huge proportions and is now the ugliest monstrosity outside my window. When it grew taller than us, the builders were given a court order to stay construction because permissions were got under false pretexts. Naturally the work was stopped but the court case continues. It will take another 20 years for the decision by which time the building will probably be on the verge of falling down.
Till then, I have to take two separate views and enjoy or just imagine that the eyesore in the middle doesn’t exist. Perhaps if I really wish hard enough, the Universe will listen and my old view will be restored again.
Alas, things are different in real life. And perhaps the Universe has other requests to listen too – more important than mine.
Enjoy this glorious view of the bay. In a few days when the monsoon clouds vanish from the scene, the sky will be washed a brilliant blue with streaks of white and gold . I can’t wait to take a photo then.
My Twin Towers hidden in the clouds with the creek in the background bathed in morning sunlight. This is literally a peep of the fabulous vistas I awake to every morning…………..

Just as the day was grey and gloomy, the sun went down in a blaze of glory.
Playing peek a boo behind the grey cloud, it blessed us with a sun kissed gold.
With gorgeous sun rises and golden sunsets why would I want to go elsewhere?
Within seconds the sky changes from grey to gold and gradually the sky will light up with twinkling stars peeping from behind the clouds.
