Welcome to my world.

My blog is one place where I can be myself without worrying about my voice being too loud, my laugh too raucous or my ideas too weird.

Personally speaking

Wearable clothes for everyday women

All I want is a dress that fits
In a style that is suitable for me.
In a fabric that breathes but doesn’t crush
In a colour that’s not too bright nor dull
Is that too much to ask for?

I’m not a fashionista but I’m not a bag lady either. For some strange reason, clothes don’t seem to be made for “real ” women any more. By real I mean women who are either generously endowed or have fallen prey to the law of gravity. Shopping which has always been a monumental bore has now become downright depressing.

First of all, whenever I enter a shop, I’m addressed as “Sir”. Then, despite the hundreds of shapes, sizes and designs, there won’t be that ONE garment that looks good on me. The styles are meant for teeny boppers, power ladies, fitness freaks and brides. Come on, surely there are women who don’t fall into any of these categories?

I just spent yet another depressing afternoon searching for a long sleeved t-shirt that I could wear while traveling. A T that could be jazzed up for the evening while still keeping me warm……..

I think I will have to seriously start thinking of designing sensible clothes for sensible women who aren’t
skinny and anorexic
whose hair doesn’t fall sexily over one eye
who aren’t fitness freaks either living in Yoga pants and track pants all day long
who aren’t ladies who lunch or brides to be
who aren’t head honchos in the corporate world
who aren’t little old ladies lounging around in shapeless kaftans
I want to make clothes for women like me!
