Welcome Home!
For the past week the household has been in a tizz or rather abuzz with the thought that Blablabla is coming from the US. Blablabla is all of 23 years old, has visited India many times and is quite familiar with Bombay, her last visit having been 11 months ago. Blablabla is a US citizen with a double major from a well known University in the US. Blablabla is an international traveler having backpacked all over Europe entirely on her own, studied in Belgium for a bit and has been staying all by herself in the US of A for the past six months.
Yet when Blablabla is visiting Bombay, the car has to be sent for her ! Anna Shetty told me how strange it is that “children” who are now well into their twenties or more, who’ve traveled the world, arrived at strange places where people speak strange tongues, and at the oddest times, somehow manage to find their way from a strange airport/station in a strange town in a strange country to an even stranger hotel they’ve never seen before yet when it it comes to visiting Bombay, they become helpless little babies who have to be picked up and brought home!
