Early this morning I filled in a whole load of washing and was pleased as punch to see a dozen nappies fluttering in the morning sun. After thirty years my wash line has baby clothes soaking up the sunshine and it brought back memories of baby powder and oil massages.
But by mid afternoon baby had gone through his entire wardrobe and even though the sun was still up to dry out another load of washing, I thought I’d ease the laundry drill by running down to get some more clothes. It is strange how within two months all the shops I’d so extolled had run out of suitable clothes for a new born infant! Having handled a baby now for a few days, we’ve got the hang of dressing a baby and we’ve found that for the first few days there’s nothing like a “langot”. But within a few days this measly garment proves woefully inadequate and we had to quickly graduate to cloth nappies. To make life better we lined the nappies with a liner that kept the bottom dry.
To get back to my tale of finding baby clothes, all the shops had run out of tie ups ! So I was back on the round about looking for suitable clothes ……………I now know why people like to shop online. Retail shops hardly have the stuff you want and definitely virtual shopping is less painful than reality!
