Welcome to my world.

My blog is one place where I can be myself without worrying about my voice being too loud, my laugh too raucous or my ideas too weird.

Personally speaking

Children are Life’s Teachers

It’s only when you become a mother
that you realise
What a good night’s  sleep really means
That walking up and down with a wiggly squealing, whining kid is not exercise
That it’s not cute when you finish bathing baby and it pees all over you
That baby’s are not a one day wonder : you have to look after them all your lives.

As a grandmother I realise how quickly we forget those days
when our children were small and drove us mad!
Nappy days soon fly by only to turn to endless whys,
then come the whines and smart ass answers,
tantrums, rages and peer pressure.
Finally, the cord is cut
two decades later or may be more.
This time round
the break is final, brutal, painful
Leaving you sleepless once more.

Anna Shetty tells me that it is only when you become a mother that you realise so many things you never understood before.

Children are gifts from God, meant to be enjoyed and cherished but they have another purpose in this world. According to my friend Jo, we are souls who come into this world to learn lessons that we have not learnt in previous lifetimes and our children are sent to teach us lessons for they are our greatest teachers. So does that mean childless people have no lessons to learn?
