A leopard can never change its spots.

This gorgeous graceful animal is distinguished from other cats by the lovely spots. Each spot is different and each leopard has different spots. Yet the saying ” a leopard can never change its spots” is a deprecating statement. How tragic that this beautiful creature is used to describe a person who can never ever change his ways.

And things never really change – they just appear different.
