When I was a little girl and comics were a rare commodity, I would eagerly cut up all the strips that would come in the regular papers and make my own comic book by collecting them as they appeared. So crazy was I for this kind of “literature” that I even collected Ripley’s Believe it or not….most of the time not believing what they reported.

I was reminded of this column this afternoon when I fleeting caught the headline ” Julia likes to cook for her family”. While I believe this statement, I find it hard to believe that she actually cooks three meals a day for her family every day of the week and every week of the year………Now if she does manage that I think she deserves a mention in Ripley’s Believe it or not.

With Bayda doing the bunk and with reports from my very sour grapevine in Pune stating that she intends visiting my premises like visiting faculty, I am beginning to believe that I need to really get better and more reliable help. With my job profile having recently changed to full time granny, it is hard to do housework, cook 3 x 3 meals, wash and iron clothes, do the dusting, open doors and answer phones, attend to emails and much much more all in 30- minute tranches when baby catches up with his 40 winks……..

Unfortunately I don’t even have the time to pass the word around that I’m looking for a part time cook who will at least take care of part of the meals and make my workload that much lighter. So till such time that I actually find a solution, I can take comfort in the fact that if the Original Pretty Woman can cook for her family, why not I?
