That’s all that I can really say.
I mean, I can’t imagine that I’ve actually won the Best Blog Award!!!
So now I’m going to cover my face the way Sushmita Sen did all those years ago and begin to cry and say
Oh My God!
I’ve been blogging for several years now and always wondered whether there was anyone reading my words out there in outer space . I mean writing in the virtual world is always different from writing on paper – where you can see your words written in ink, printed on paper. But writing on the internet? That is a completely different ball game – where you type and send your thoughts into ether hoping that someone out there sees them and reads them and appreciates you.
Considering that there are zillions of blogs out there, written by talented people, creative people, important people, funny people, thought provoking people, controversial people and of course ordinary people, I am really astounded that my blog has made it there. I am thrilled beyond belief that my oh so ordinary blog could measure up to all those incredible blogs that abound in the Universe.
I actually began blogging when it was still quite new and just about learnt that URL didn’t stand for You R Lost. I also began blogging so that I could avoid writing letters to my scattered family and friends and share with them news, views and recipes. So I called my blog ChowMiaow to talk about Chow and Miaow about stuff. But over the years many more people actually began reading my words while my family and friends stopped ! So now that I’ve won the Best Blog Award, I feel happy and vindicated that my writing has not been in vain.
All prize winners have to thank all those who made winning possible and I’d like to start by thanking my mother (who would kill me if I didn’t) and who never reads my blog, my father who always reads my blogs and calls up to tell me what I wrote was wrong, my husband who suspected that Blog was an alias for a secret lover, my children who still resent the fact that I go to the computer first thing in the morning before I even go into their room to see how they are (they are actually well and are secretly happy I ignore them) , my friends who are so lazy that they only read my Blog when it is sent to them via an email link. I would also like to thank all my English teachers who over the years taught me the correct use of language, punctuation and spelling. And lastly, this prize would not have been possible were it not for my unknown readers and followers(who encourage me with their comments ), Blogger for creating this incredible platform that I still haven’t mastered and BlogAdda for introducing me to the wonderful world of Indian Bloggers and of course for giving me this Award!
Thank You!
This would be My Winning Speech on being rewarded the BlogAdda Blog Award!
