I am going to try a new quick way to De-stress & #SlowDownZindagi using Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil in association with BlogAdda‘
“Stop and smell the roses
Sip a glass of wine
Slow down your hectic pace
And find your soul divine.” ( original verse by ME)
Mumbai, they say is the city of dreams, but it is far from the city of your dreams. For some strange reason despite the amenities available there seems to be a shortage of time and a surfeit of stress. No one seems immune from it, including the fish in the newly renovated aquarium who are now kept in quarantine, away from stress caused by the hordes of eyes peering into their fishbowl.
While I don’t resort to such drastic measures to de-stress I do have five sure-fire ways of regaining my composure.
A session of watching back-to- back movies on Romedy Now is a purely passive activity that completely numbs my brain to pulp and I emerge refreshed and grateful that I don’t have a life as ridiculous as the ones I’ve just seen! Soppy romantic movies are preferable better to movies starring Ashton Kutcher and Adam Sandler as they are less moronic and less taxing on my threshold for tolerating rubbish.
Women don’t sweat, they glow:
A bit more energetic though still possible from the confines of my room is a wonderfully invigorating session of yoga. After an hour or so of torturous twisting and turning and bending through body breaking poses I feel relaxed and rejuvenated with stress becoming a thing of the past.
Just a spoonful of sugar: Stirring up a storm in the kitchen is a great way to I de-stress. Scouring the pantry for ingredients, pouring over recipes and making something tasty and delicious to eat is a surefire way of easing your body and mind. I love grilled sandwiches with melting cheese or a gooey chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Chopping and stirring and watching things rise while the aroma of good food fills up the air…. Mmmmm. What could be better than that?
Clear air, clear care: Cleaning out the mess, sorting out the clothes, ironing out the creases and putting things away in neat folds, is like dusting the cobwebs out of a chaotic mind. There is a calm and comfort that can be derived from a mundane activity like cleaning cupboards.
The Beautiful way to de-stress
Finally, the best stress buster is a visit to the beauty salon down the street, passing a row of shoe shops, trying out shoes that catch my fancy, then like Cinderella’s ugly sister (I have the reverse problem of very small feet) entering a parlor of ultimate bliss! As I sink into a cushioned chair and hear bits of conversation as faces and egos are gently massaged , the chitter and chatter while hair is being snipped, coloured or curled, nails being polished and bodies waxed, I feel once again my spirits lift up and emerge from the parlor a person de-stressed!
And pray, what do you do to de-stress?
