Twenty- five Seven

Personally speaking

N is for NO, NO , NO

With Little P attaining the new milestone of Age Two, the word I hear most these days is NO.
It is no wonder then that I associate the word NO with the letter N.
In an effort to wean him off this favourite word, I decided to play a game with him.
Would you like a glass of milk?
No
Would you like to sleep?
No
Should we go to the park?
No
Do you want to meet your friend Naina?
No.
Do you want to do wee wee?
No
Would you like a chocolate?
No
Would you like to read a book?
No
Would you like your pacifier?
He’s about to say no when he realises what game I’m playing and finally the No is replaced by a loud resounding YES
I always wondered why a child’s first word after Dada and Mama and Baba is NO. This is probably the first word said with understanding.
Then I realised that we as adults are constantly telling him “No” especially when he wants to do something that we don’t want him to do. In his little mind, questions are to be responded with a NO. So why am I surprised that his favourite word is NO????

There are over a 1000 bloggers from all over the world  participating in this challenge. Do pop in and see what the others are writing. It’s amazing  and fascinating to discover how people’s minds work and how the same prompt can inspire different thoughts.
