Welcome to my world.

My blog is one place where I can be myself without worrying about my voice being too loud, my laugh too raucous or my ideas too weird.

There was a shuffle of feet as the  lift slowed down as it approached  the tenth floor. We all  moved a bit closer to one another, making room for the new person to get in.

A young girl all of thirteen got inside cradling a blanket in her arms. Instinctively, she held the bundle closer to her and gave a tight smile.

“Oh Hi Nikita. How are you?” said Mrs. Paul, the busybody from the twentieth floor who knew everyone in the building and made it a point to speak to them all.  “So what have you got there?” she inquired.

“Nothing really” mumbled the girl and shushed the little creature in the blanket.

” Nothing? That looks like one cute little pup!”

” Yes aunty, ” sighed the girl in resignation. She was tense that the puppy would mess up the lift and wanted to get to the ground floor as quickly as possible.

“So you finally got your wish didn’t you?”

“Yes, but mum’s not too happy. The puppy has been around for just 24 hours and she’s already grumbling about how much work it is.”

“Well, I suppose she’s right in a way. And these days the servants aren’t always willing to do the dog’s work.”

The lift slowed down again as it reached the ground floor. Nikita made a dash for the garden as soon as the door opened. Mrs. Paul made a general remark to all of us who were slowly getting out of the lift.

“I wonder how long that dog will last.”
