Well, I myself am simply amazed that I’ve managed to write up THREE blogs posts in one day and that too in the first half of the morning. That is simply because I have some time on hand now and decided to catch the bull by the horns and make hay while the sun shines and seize the day. That’s three proverbs too many and before this becomes a litany of proverbs, let me get down to International Blog Delurking Week.

Frankly, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of such a week and such a blog event and even though I’d glanced at Alphabet Salad’s post on WriteTribeProBlogger Challenge, I just didn’t have the time to have a proper look. Then I   actually read through it and thought to myself – Hey I know the feeling of being an un-acknowledged blogger.

It is quite disheartening to find that you type word after word on a keyboard, often stealthily as I do, between baby naps, or half cooked meals, sometimes even furtively at a boring social event, only to find that there are no real visitors to your blog. Or even if there are visitors, they are just random visitors who quickly exit even faster than they came.

So, what is International Blog Delurking Week?

According to Mel  (of Stirrup Queens ) who I presume started this tradition and who I’m quoting verbatim

Back in the olden days of the Internet, the first full week of January was declared International Delurking Week, and I still celebrate this ancient holiday. It runs this year from the 3rd until the 9th, so you have about seven days to slither out of the reading closet and check in with an “I’m here” comment.

 

Having already commented on Alana’s post and Parul’s post, and also commenting on Mel’s post, all that was left for me to do was put up my own blog post commemorating this event.
