It’s nothing to crow about. Falling numbers . Today I glanced at my analytics and found that my visitors this month are 300 less than last month and are falling down!!!! This drastic drop in blog traffic is  alarming considering that I’ve been consciously trying to bring the numbers up.

What could be going wrong?

• A friend very frankly told me that my content was boring and dull – too centred around my family
• Another friend told me that she was busy getting her own accounts in order with the financial year coming to an end and had no time to waste visiting my blog.
• Yet another critic said that she was busy with school exams and running after her children .

So all in all, March is a really busy month with everybody coming out of their Winter stupor and getting ready for the rest of the year.

Ways to increase blog traffic

Over the past year , I’ve been making a conscious effort to improve my rankings, increase blog traffic and perhaps even earn some money.

• I’ve followed tips by experts like Darren Rowse and Jon Morrow and Pat Flynn  and who give free advice with a simple sign up to receive updates and tips from them regularly.
• consulted with consultants like Blogelina and ShoutMeLoud for a fee.
• engaged with my readers – asking questions at the end of the post.
• interacted with other bloggers – joining up with Write Tribe, participating in Blog Hops and actively commenting on other bloggers’ posts.
• participated in contests hosted by Blogadda and Indiblogger.

So what is going wrong?

I wonder what can I do to stop the plunge and bring the blog traffic up?
