Personally speaking

Illness is ephemeral too #FridayReflections

Image for life is ephemeral As I sit alone in front of my chicken soup I am reminded that everything in life is ephemeral. I have come out to eat because I want to escape the sixth consecutive meal of ‘moong daal khichadi’

Normally this tops my list of soul food especially when I’m down and out but this time I’ve had enough.

This week has been particularly dull with a horrendous deluge on Tuesday and the two adult males in the house being under the weather.

What is it about men that makes them difficult patients?

Part of the TLC they require is unspiced ( read insipid) , soft overcooked khichadi which I just can’t have for one meal more !

I’ll be glad when this spell is over because as we all know, bad times are ephemeral too!

  1. Men do make the most difficult patients, don’t they. But I have to admit, sometimes I am an awful patient when I am sick, too.

  2. Dear BB, This is in a way is what I need to read today. I really hope that this too shall pass…the bad times. I normally am a good patient but I remember I was quite a monster when I had my labour pains and was quite nasty to the nurses around. Lol…I will be visiting more often. Love and Hugs

  3. Awww! Hugs Sunita!! Hope you enjoyed the soup instead. I totally get your situation…I had a bad bout of migraine two weeks back and had to have two full days of moong dal khichdi until on the third day, I just decided that was it. I wasn’t going to have one more spoon of that. Stay positive Sunita…this too shall pass!

  4. I wouldn’t mind khichdi once in a while, but 4 days in a row would be too much. :) Even if it’s normal rice and sambar, after a few days, I crave for chapati or go out for pastries or something like that. Hope the ephemeral illness has chosen to say goodbye. :-D

  5. Man flu! Yup…I don’t know why men kick up such a stink about the flu. I guess they wouldn’t complain if they had to endure periods and pregnancy…it’s all about perspective. Hope they recover soon and you can be free of caretaking duties!
