The weekend was over and Monday was getting busier by the minute. I had workmen repairing a bathroom, a fussy computer that needed looking into and an important dinner next week that I had to plan for . I was wondering how the year was picking up momentum as it was coming to an end . It’s already November and before we know it, will be bringing in the New Year.
I was pondering over this thought when the bell rang and in walked Wow Dinga. He had just come home from school and was absolutely ravenous . Before I could get him his food, Little Po came running up to me saying “Ajji come quick Abu has become a hulk” .
Now Hubby Dear has just left for Nasik and he didn’t look anything remotely like the Hulk when I wished him goodbye.
However, not wanting to disappoint the little one, I humoured him and let him lead me towards his hunky grandfather by my little finger . He dragged me towards my bedroom and into the bathroom where he pointed out to Hubby Dear’s toothpaste caddy.
Our old caddy that had once held both his and her toothbrushes and paste had broken so ‘he’ took out a mug that he was presented with on his 60th birthday- a rather cheesy mug announcing ‘I am Sexty.’ It had his rather cheery face super imposed on the body of a hulk!
Little Po was thrilled to see his grandfather turn into his favourite superhero and very innocently asked me “and Ajji where are you? ” meaning where is your sexy persona on your mug?
I don’t have the heart to tell him that even though I’ll soon be sixty I don’t think I’d like to be a sexty hulk.
What about you ?
This definitely banished all sad thoughts of the impending New Year and made me look forward to yet another satisfying day with the kids.
