OMG ! The year has come to a end .
And at the end of the year like I say every year, the year has gone by faster than before .
To begin with, my word for the year was Patience. Surprisingly I was patient for the most part .
After waiting , I finally got a new car! But my joy was short lived as I really had to man my ship single handedly with Bayda the Bai going home to recuperate . She had had her cataract surgery in December.
After a month of constant catch up, I was exhausted. The only option was to accompany Hubby Dear for a short trip to Dubai.
While he worked I slept or to use a term popular with my millennial girls – vegged out.
February has always been my favourite month because I celebrate a birthday. This was another quiet birthday with food from my favourite restaurant Royal China eaten in the company of my favourite people.
March and April went by in a whirl . I saw my first ever Opera – La Boheme – a treat from Anna Shetty.
A reluctant participant in the #A to Z Challenge, my theme was Indian textiles and it was fun though tough coming up with different textile traditions.
Soon after my parents’ milestone anniversary celebrations I went off to the US for a short trip that included Ms Papaya’s 2nd Birthday. I couldn’t believe how the little miss had shaped up in a year!
In June my father gave us a scare with a heart attack . Luckily he came out of it.
The rainy months are never my favourite months despite the fact that I don’t really have to get my feet wet .
In September Hubby Dear and I made another quick visit to the US.
Returning home to Diwali and Anna Shetty’s mountain climbing expedition in the Himalayas meant a week of intense baby sitting. It was lovely having the boys actually home and brought back memories of my own millennial babies.
And of course the last two months have whizzed past as usual.
Blogging goals
At the beginning of the year I was determined to either improve my blog or give up trying .
I’m happy to have made some progress .
I met with a lovely blogger friend Shilpa and the two of us have decided to host #FlavoursomeTuesdays. It’s slowly picking up, thanks to Shilpa’s enthusiasm and support .
I also participated in the WriteTribe #writebravely challenge in July. And of course my first ever BARathon. Blogchatter and its events are still a mystery to master but I did participate in #MyFriendAlexa campaign.
Sharing photos with #SkywatchFriday, #WordlessWednesday and #ThursdayTreeLove meant that I was blogging most days of the week .
Most of my blogging has continued to be in stealth, between snatched moments of calm in a chaotic and hectic day.
Social Media has begun making sense and I have finally got the hang of blogging .
But something has to give . And what gave was the reading Challenge . I had to give up keeping track of what I had read and how much I had read .
Equally shameful was my personal weight control and exercise program which went unchecked . This is one thing I have to tackle with all seriousness.
So goodbye 2017 and hello 2018!
Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year .
May you be safe , healthy and happy .
