#WordlessWednesday – A Garden Snail

Last week in the garden we came upon this snail . It was a wonder because for many years our gardens were invaded by huge African snails that were more destructive than we imagined.

I don’t know what the name of this snail is but it didn’t tuck his head in shyly as most of them do when they are picked up .

Isn’t the contrast in textures between the snail’s smooth shell and the almost leather like surface of the leaf it is resting on fascinating?

Linking this up with Esha and Natasha’s #WordlessWednesday.

  1. Our snails are small. I can imagine the damage a large one can do. The design on this shell is pretty, I agree.
