Twenty- five Seven

Personally speaking

M is for meetings

As far as Ms Papaya knows, her mum is always busy with meetings. So is Abu ( her Grandpa) who comes home late from work because of meetings. And even Aji who does nothing much most days, only gets dressed properly when she has to go for a meeting .

So Meetings according to the Little Ones are Important Occasions for Grown Up People .

At least that’s what we thought till one day, Ms. Papaya made a beautiful creation out of Plus Plus – a toy for creating three-dimensional objects.

What’s that? we asked her.

It’s people sitting together doing nothin’. It’s a meeting!

So much for a child’s perspective on the importance of meetings.

Ciao

  1. I hold the same opinion as Ms Papaya. Meetings are for people with too much time and too little work.😂

  10. Oxford, Cambridge and Merriam-Webster are you listening? Please take a note of this new definition of the word Meeting! You never know…by the time Ms Papaya grows up it would be included in these dictionaries as the slang meaning of the word “Meeting”!

  13. Look at the busy colors she has got in there in a lovely spread- children are so unique in their perspective. You must save these pics and incidents to be enjoyed by them when they grow up. They would cherish the way you are interpreting them right now. Make a journal or album or something to gift them when they are slightly older Sunita

  15. Meetings take up a lot of time and more than often, we end up with a lot more problems to discuss further. More stuff for more meetings! :D

  16. Bingo. Exactly what happens in a “meeting” I am hoping all these meetings will be scrapped after the lockdown is lifted.

  18. Oh, how I dislike meetings! When I worked in a school years ago, I would curse the times when our co-ordinator would inform us about a meeting at the end of the day or on a Saturday. Meetings, we knew, were nothing but a mode of entertainment for her as she would otherwise get bored in an empty house. I agree with Ms. Papaya..meetings are when people do nothing…nothing important! :D

  19. I couldn’t agree more with Ms Papaya! I used to feel the same when I was working at IBM and all people used to do in the meeting were repeating the same information number of times and wasting the valuable time which can instead be used in fixing a problem!
