I am more than convinced that you can find beauty in the most unexpected places .
Last month I made a day trip to Bhor , a sleepy rural town near Pune .
Bhor was once princely state during the Maratha Empire and I was sadly disappointed with the Palace which is a mere shadow of its former self .
I was equally disappointed with the old temples which were restored to modern garishness rather than to its original charm .
Hence I was most surprised when I saw this magnificent tree lurking behind an equally dilapidated building off the main town square .
What was most amazing however was the thick trunk with folds of wood embracing the main trunk which has obviously sprouted from the stump
And as I gazed upward , admiring this proud old tree , I saw three beehives hanging down

I’m not too sure what this tree was but I think from the leaf , it was a Ficus religiosa.

And below it all was a tiny niche waiting patiently to be home to a new idol .
What a magnificent that was !
With this post , I will be joining Parul for her #ThursdayTreeLove-105 , a bi-monthly blog hop for tree lovers .
So if you’d like to see some more lovely trees from round the world , do pop in at #ThursdayTreeLove-105 .
Hope you had a good Thursday
Ciao
