• We were waiting in the traffic when Wow Dinga shouted excitedly

    “Look! Aji! An AUDI taxi!”

I looked all over the traffic to spot the luxury car in the avatar of a very plebeian transport . Though there are high end cars used as private taxis, they aren’t that common. More so they are hard to identify as taxis because they are very discreet.

So when he pointed out to the beat up Santro waiting ahead of me I was amazed to see the Audi logo painted on the rear window.

Now that’s called wearing shoes bigger than you can fill !

  • It’s been over six months that I’ve picked up the kids from school every other day . Yet it was only when Wow Dinga pointed it out to me did I realise that the ‘electric pole’ was actually a Palm Tree! While busy chatting with mums and grandmums, I failed to recognise this straight pole as a tree trunk. Thanks Wow Dinga for helping me look beyond my nose.

How often have you mistaken a thing for something else?

Step exercises take on an entirely new meaning when one uses the stairs to access the skywalk at Nana’s Chowk. This busy intersection in South Mumbai is so foolishly made that most people prefer to risk being run over to cross the road rather than take the steps which do not really take you across unless you want to go to Grant Road station.

To make them more attractive, the sides have been painted in attractive colours. And as an added incentive to use them, the Municipal Corporation has calculated the calories you burn with every step.

Laudable though this effort may be, once again the intentions of the Municipality are misplaced as the people who use the steps are generally fit in the first place. Very rarely do fat aunties use the train let alone the steps!

Hope your week has been good so far.
