Do not feel sad to let me go.
you have to go your way.

our times together were happy ones
and days of sorrow too
we laughed and cried and enjoyed
our many precious years

but time moves on and you did too
without a backward glance
you chose to tread another path
which had no space for me.

fill not your heart with deep regret
despondency or grief
for you did what you had to do
and depart the way you did.

New memories will fill your heart
which once were filled with mine
and you will soon
forget
those days
and all you left behind.

Do not feel sad to let me go.

Life is a not a one way street

Life is not a one way street

a road just meant for you

this narrow road

with bumps and twists

is meant for all to share

you make place for some,

or wait behind and watch the others go

then someone comes along and stops

and clears the way for you.

our journey in this world

is tough

we cannot do it on our own.

we need the help

and love we get

from strangers and our friends

but once we get ahead in life

and on our chosen path

we soon forget

the ones who helped and slogged

with us

along the way.

life is not a one way street

where all the time we get.

we take and take and take and take;

with not a thought to spare

that life is not a one way street:

we need to do our share.

Parking on one side only!

The sights of Mumbai never cease to amaze me and I always carry a camera along to record things that happen.

While at Bhaji Gully this morning I got a phone call from home asking me to pick up some stuff from Tiwari Brothers at the corner of Opera House. So I went down Kennedy Bridge and while waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I was surprised to see a water tanker lying prone on its side! Considering there was no oil spill, no sleet or ice, I wonder how the driver managed this because the tanker seems otherwise intact and it would seem that there were no injured persons. While parking is difficult to get in Bombay, I’m sure this is not what the traffic police meant when they allow parking on one side only!
