Welcome to my world.

My blog is one place where I can be myself without worrying about my voice being too loud, my laugh too raucous or my ideas too weird.

Twenty- five Seven

Personally speaking

Be kind to yourself

I really wonder how these different ‘days’ are decided and who decides them and who  observes them.

Are they just randomly chosen or is there some kind of logic to it? And more importantly is there a calendar which marks these days?

Anyway I came across this interesting post via Corinne and being the curious sort, actually went to the original post . This is a very interesting concept because most people do not associate kindness with themselves . We are kind to others and not ourselves.

But it is time to be kind to yourself because like the safety instructions in the plane advise, first draw the oxygen mask to yourself before helping others.

So on this Day of Kindness start off by being kind to yourself so that you may be kind to others.

I’d like to start by finding the time to go for a walk in the morning so that I can clear up my mind and warm up my muscles so that I can ease myself into the day.

How would you like to be kind to yourself today?

  2. I did not know it was World Kindness Day. I, too, wonder who comes up with these “days.” I used to think it was the greeting card companies, but there are too many for even Hallmark to keep up.

I agree, we need to be kind to ourself. We cannot give that which we do not have. An empty well holds no water. When we stop reacting to everything thrown our way, and take some time to be kind to ourselves, we can respond to others with genuine compassion and helpfulness. Being kind and compassionate to oneself is so important.

    Thank you for your post!

    1. I’m glad you agree . Yes I too used to think it was cars companies who came up with such ideas but now maybe it’s bored bloggers who want a wider audience?
