A silver lining for every cloud #GratitudeCircle

There is always something to be thankful for.

All through the month of May, as the earth was heating up, white clouds formed in the sky, sometimes turning dark and threatening but often just floating by. There were lots of dark clouds in my otherwise sunny life – the shortage of domestic help, the shortage of water, the frequent break downs of the lift and my weird and  irritating ailments. I often wondered what on earth did I feel gratitude for? But like all dark clouds, mine had silver linings too –

  • Help! While I was struggling with domestic chores, I am grateful that P turned up as did R especially since Bayda’s sticky knee is threatening to get progressively worse.
  • Health issue –  While I am not suffering from any ailment ( Thank God) I’m getting on and find myself suffering from the most irritating symptoms .But I’m grateful that my family has plenty of  doctors  whom I can call upon and enjoy access to the best medical facilities and doctors.
  • While most of the country is facing a water shortage, I am grateful that I don’t have to walk miles to collect a bucket of water and wonder when my next bath will be. I can actually let the babies cool off in the evening with a quick splash in the basin
  • And lastly, despite the nights when I toss and turn because of worry, or can’t sleep when my body aches, or when a baby’s crying keeps me up, or when I just fall asleep exhausted, I’m grateful for the life I have, busy, busy, busy with not a spare moment to think .
