Zahan and Kayan loved playing on the rocky beach while their parents snoozed in the shack.  It was exciting scouring for shells and other treasures that were washed ashore among the flotsam.

Suddenly Zahan spotted something and ran toward it, his fat feet stepping gingerly on the hot pebbles.

“Look Kay! Come quick! See what I found!” he shouted excitedly to his brother.

“Coming Zee,” replied his sibling, a little wary of his brother’s ‘discoveries’. All too often they amounted to nothing more than figments of a fertile, imaginative, 3- year old brain.

“Come NOW!! It’s an alien plane. We will be able to find the teranadons.”

“What?” Could it really be so?

He walked towards his brother peering inside the ruins of a crashed plane.

It was only 6 ” big and would never have seated a teranadon whatever that creature may be.

Pteranadons are actually far too large to fit into a 6 ” plane! Currently this word is part of my grandsons’ vocabulary which  includes names of Dinosaurs , a species that is not only extinct but strangely captures the imagination of ALL 3-5 year old males. Can some one explain this fascination?
