Mumbai is known for its innovations. With a large number of its citizens living in homes that aren’t permanent, there’s always someone looking for a quick bite on his way to or from home.
This man scratching his head at seeing a sign “Veg Chinese Bhel” had me scratching my head in wonder too!
What could it be ?

I wouldn’t mind trying out the Chinese bhel…or, even the Manchurian bhel. Hey, we do have the Manchurian Dosa, don’t we? So, why not bhel? Ought to make a list of such ‘weird food combos’ for a FlavoursomeTuesdays post!:P

I am not sure I would. When I grew up, “street food” was a hot dog with the “fixings”. I should get more adventerous, but my aging stomach says “not so fast”.

It does sound weird but nothing unusual because it is a fact that we Indians love to give a native flavour to our food and that too in a way reflects the local taste! Chinese food in Kolkata is quite different from chinese food in Bangalore, believe me. I remember in the UK, whenever we ordered from any Chinese Takeaway, the food used to come super bland. I guess, its the way with most countries.

Yes I realised that when I had Chinese food in China and Indian food everywhere . In fact chicken makhanwalla tastes different I every part of India!
