Desperately seeking coffee
Hello and welcome to another edition of #FlavoursomeTuesday, a monthly blog hosted on the 1st Tuesday of every month.
I have to apologise for this post which is essentially a link to the best places to get coffee in Mumbai.
But it’s Diwali time and most of you will be too busy visiting your relatives to visit blogs on line !
It all began when I discovered that the level of coffee in my coffee canister was slowly going down . I knew I had to get some . So I went down to Philips Tea & Coffee at Grant Road and found the shop shut . Not only was it shut but it was being whitewashed.
I asked one of the people hanging around when the shop would reopen. I was shocked when I was told NEVER.
Then began my search for good freshly ground coffee.
I’m not a coffee snob but I do like a good brew . Especially in the morning . Somehow tea time is tea time but early morning is meant for coffee.
My cousin Sanjay who is a coffee snob mentioned a place in Mumbai where I could get good coffee.
But in the meanwhile I found this wonderful article detailing all the coffee sources in Mumbai.
I’ve already ordered my sample of 7 gourmet roasts . One of them is the Monsooned Malabar a coffee that gets its special aroma from the rain soaked beans.
I will sample these coffees and review them on this blog . So do keep a look out for my weekly posts on #FlavoursomeTuesday.
Ciao
