Farewell Ganesha #ThursdayTreeLove

IMG_7351[1]

This tree lined avenue is as old as the Ganesha Festival and has probably seen all the Ganpatis pass by since Lokmanya Tilak first introduced the Community ( Sarvajanik ) Ganpati in Girgaon’s chawls.

As yet, this road is still as it was in its heydays with the trees still intact.

Sharing this post with Parul and other tree lovers on #ThursdayTreeLove-71.

  1. I love a street with many trees allowing them to hold each other underground and keep each other company. I long for a day when we build around the trees.

    1. Yes, most streets nowadays are made without any space for trees

  2. These must be hardy trees indeed to live in a city environment. These trees must have seen every kind of thing we can imagine, and more.

    1. I think for anything to survive in Mumbai’s environment has to be hardy ! I always wonder what the trees would tell us if they could speak

  5. Love how these trees have not been cut down, as it happens in the modern day to make way for pavements or shops. Thank you for featuring them. Hope you had a wonderful festival!
