Welcome to my world.

My blog is one place where I can be myself without worrying about my voice being too loud, my laugh too raucous or my ideas too weird.

Personally speaking

Upstairs and Downstairs

Long before Downton Abbey, there was a television serial called Upstairs ,Downstairs. Both were highly popular British television series. Downton Abbey was set in the countryside while Upstairs, Downstairs was set in London. Both were about aristocratic families and their servants.

U is for Upstairs

In our context, however, Ms. Papaya thinks that the neighbours upstairs, the Aptes are called  Uptés. After all, they live Upstairs. We are the Middletés. And the neighbours downstairs are the  Downtés while the people on the lower floors, the Notés.

What do you say to such logic?

Ciao

  3. That’s a very logical way of naming them. Ms. Papaya is very observant and logical! I have heard of Upstairs, Downstairs but I haven’t watched it. I love Downton Abbey. I’ve been hearing reports that the show is set to make a come back with a new season!

  10. Children can give you a novel perspective you’ve never bothered to care for. That’s because they can be original than us. We know far too much to be original.
