When Ms. Papaya asked me what I was doing, I told her that I was listing down 61 things that I was grateful for.
In her wise 5 year old way, she told me “Aji that’s a lot of writing you’ll have to do!”
But, when you’ve lived as long as I have lived, you really have a lot to be grateful for. So these are 61 things I am grateful for.
- For starters, I’m grateful that I’m alive . With the raging pandemic, life especially in a city like Bombay, this is indeed something to be grateful for .
- But having said that, I am grateful that I am living in MUMBAI because it is truly a great city to live in. I am grateful for the chaos and the craziness that allows me to be more inventive and innovative while I navigate each day.
- Marine Drive and the sea spray on my face as I walk down the sea
- And the quiet leafy roads in the city.
- The house that I live in that is neither too big nor too small .
- The gorgeous view from my kitchen sink– whether it is the early morning city or the lights coming on, working in the kitchen is no longer a bother .
- My little patch of green in my balcony – I love the leaves fluttering in the breeze
- The sound of parrots screeching past every morning – what better way to wake up every day?
- The lawn and the garden that is a priceless treasure
