Personally speaking

The Merry Month of May

I can’t believe another month has whizzed by and we are welcoming the merry month of May.

Alas! There’s nothing much to be merry about this coming month with our country still reeling under the virus attack and predictions of worse to come.

However, I still have a lot to be grateful for in the month of April.

First and foremost, I am grateful that not only I but my loved ones too are alive. Hearing the horror stories of how the virus is hitting closer to home, every day I thank the Lord for keeping us safe.

One of the ways of keeping the virus at bay is to eat healthy. Eating healthy builds up immunity and I am grateful that we can still get good wholesome food that keeps the immunity up.

We seem to have learned from the lockdowns last year and this year there are still more than grocery stores that operate under downed shutters. The modus operandi is to place an order on WhatsApp, pay digitally and collect the consignment at your lobby below or at the gate. This works out well for everyone as you can even order takeaways if you feel like a break from routine cooking.

As a matter of fact, most foods come with nutritional information printed on th packagingto help you make a clear choice between its nutritive value or its attractive packaging.

We celebrated three birthdays this month. Two were at home and one remotely. Besides these three ( two of which were celebrating nonagenarians), we also sent wishes to 5 more dear ones overseas. I am really grateful for this.

Suddenly the vaccine seemed to have done the bunk and after three attempts at getting our second dose, I am grateful that finally we struck lucky at the fourth attempt. And this was something truly to be grateful for because after that the vaccination campaign seems to have gone completely awry.

May is the month for mangoes but in our house we start them in April with Hubby Dear’s birthday early in the month. And I am grateful to Akshay Bhai for providing us with the much loved fruit as he always does year on year. I was a bit apprehensive about his showing up this year thanks to CoVid but show up he did with a great supply of mangoes.

And last but not least, I actually completed my A to Z Challenge this year. As usual I was over ambitious and wanted to follow participants in two groups but eventually just barely bumbled my way through the #BlogchatterA2Z.

So while it seems there isn’t much to be grateful for, I actually have a lot to thank the Universe for.

May all of you stay home. May all of you stay blssed.

Ciao

  2. Good you managed to get your second dose of the vaccine. Keep safe, and keep eating interesting things.

That shot of icecream sandwiches caught my eye. It reminded me of an old favourite: K. Rustom’s at Churchgate. Haven’t been there in years. Hope they survive the lockdowns.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. Yes Tandy’s is an artisanal ice cream that makes these sandwiches as well as some yummy salted caramel. They home deliver and also supply through certain RTI outlets .
