Goodbye my Gulmohar summer #ThursdayTreeLove

Quote : George Eliot Photo : Bellybytes

The blazing red of the Gulmohar is one the signs of summer. It’s vermillion blossoms make a gorgeous flowery umbrella. In summers past, the whole of Malabar Hill  used to be a fire with its colour.

Alas , the burgeoning concrete jungle has forced the Gulmohar to peep out between the grey of  buildings like the remains of summer on this tree near Babulnath Temple.

I’m linking up with Parul’s #ThursdayTreeLove where bloggers link up with photographs of trees.

  1. I love Gulmohar trees. We had a lot of them lining the pathways at school. Oh, your post reminds me that it’s been ages since I saw a Gulmohar tree in its full orange glory!!

  2. So true, Sunita. We need to sow the seeds today to have those beautiful blooms tomorrow! There’s nothing quite like a fiery Gulmohar in bloom, I agree.

  4. I love Gulmohar trees and in Bangalore, they bloom with all their might. I think the red makes them prettier.
