#Day 3 of the #3 Day Quote Challenge

Well, yesterday when I shared my second quote, a fellow blogger, Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan ( who as it turns out is also doing another 3 day quote challenge) pointed out that I used an image that was not original. Of course he was right, and I did feel embarrassed to have used something without proper permission even though I’d so admitted, so today I’m sharing my other favourite quote originally written by Mao Tse Tung but modified by me and which was used in another blog entry . The original quote of women holding up half the sky actually acknowledges the role played by women in society – where they are equal participants in social progress.

Women do hold up half the sky but do the men really hold up the other half? Very often men very conveniently wiggle their way out of household responsibilities citing a woman’s “fussiness” or their own ineptitude in doing things as simple as washing a dish or ironing a shirt!

However, this is not always the rule and there are several men who do more than pull their weight but this quote is meant for those men who just watch shamelessly while their better halves hold up half the sky.

So with this entry, I have fulfilled the 3 day quote challenge – something I’m quite proud of given my complete paucity of time to do things for myself.

I am also linking this up to Write Tribe ProBlogger Challenge.

  1. Hi

I didn’t quite figure out the tag thing but got the quotes for each day…

“Freedom is gained incrementally and over time.”
    – BKS Iyengar

“One thing I noticed was that writing honestly about running and writing honestly about myself are nearly the same thing.”
    – Haruki Murakami

“Some aspects of our life we share, and others we keep to ourselves. This level of mystery brings balance to our being.”
    – Sakyong Mipham

    1. You are supposed to write a quote for three consecutive days , tag three other bloggers and thank the person who tagged you. This is a bit like the chain letters of the old days
