52 Thursdays and 11 Gratitude Posts.
For someone who wasn’t one for gratitude posts, this is quite a lot !
I have too much to be grateful for and I mistakenly felt that public acknowledgement of my gratitude would attract the evil eye.
But I find that regularly thanking the Universe for the abundance in my life has been satisfying.
So I would like to thank December for a month of jollity.
After Daughter No1.’s birthday early in the month, it was Jingle Bells all the way.
I was lucky to share in the Christmas celebrations of Wow Dinga, Ms Papaya and Little Po.
Both the little ones were adorable in their costumes and did a sterling job at their school concert. Ms Papaya was upset, though ,that there weren’t any Queens or wise women bearing gifts for the young babe. I’m surprised that feminists haven’t tackled that one yet!
December have me the chance to catch up with my folks in Pune . I also managed to meet the next generation and the next at a quick lunch with my cousin.
But all was not smooth sailing . The storm in the teacup was caused by my domestic help . Oftentimes, help is more of a hindrance. Ever since H came to our home, there has been an undercurrent of subversion and by Diwali, things at home reached a peak. H was one discontented creature and was always wanting more. More free time, more money and more freedom to do as she liked . She reneged on the terms of employment with us and managed to squeeze out a month’s bonus. This didn’t go down well with me at all.
But worse still, when December rolled by, she gave in her notice. Funnily enough, she worked even better after this but by the middle of the month, I was lucky to get someone else. I am grateful that H left as she did because she would have been a handful to get rid of later.
The alert from Goodreads was a wake up call for me to catch up with my reading and update my bookshelf. I have now managed to exceed my goal !
So December , thank you for a fruitful month of joy and celebration.
I would also like to thank Vidya Sury for hosting the #GratitudeCircle and Corinne and Shalini for hosting #FridayReflections.

Happy weekend all.
Ciao
