Twenty- five Seven

Personally speaking

Who is the Boss ?

At the end of the day, when the whole family meets over the dining table, conversations are generally about how the day went. And more often than not, everyone grumbles about their boss.

B is for Boss (1)

One day Little Po asked his other grandma who was the boss of the house.

His other Grandpa (whom he also calls Abu) preened expectantly, while his wife replied

“Why your Abu, of course!”

“No, No,” said Little Po, “who is the Boss of this House?

“Ah!” said grandma as the tube light lit up,” you mean who owns the building?

“Yes, of course,” said Little Po, finally relieved that he could make the grown-ups understand exactly what he wanted. “Who is the BOSS?

“Well, it’s the landlord,” replied Abu looking at Little Po quizzically.

He wondered what brought on that question.

I wonder too.

What do you think was going on in his mind?

  3. What a unique question from the little one- did you inquire further from him as to what perked up his curiosity? I think hearing all the talks about the bosses everyone has, maybe he wondered why no one was talking about the most important one- the owner of this building where you all live. :-)

  6. Probably he has to pick up some bone with the boss and give him or her some dare. Or may be he wishes to figure out whether he has anything to grudge about the person who is the boss or may be he wishes to find out how does a boss look like? There are as many possibilities as the grey cells when it comes to knowing what a child must be thinking.
Light and delightful. I am entertained thoroughly, Sunita.

    2. Yes, this was my thought – perhaps something’s broken, or when something breaks – isn’t working and needs scolded by the “Boss” (like plumbing) – he wants to know who to complain to. Children are smart.
