Two years ago we lost my father-in-law. Though he was very old and the children quite young, they still remember him. Unlike many old people , he enjoyed their company and he played with them every day. When he passed away, they were quite distraught.
We explained to them that he had gone to heaven and has become a star. They felt comforted knowing that he looked down on them every day
One lovely summer evening Ms. Papaya and I were sitting on the swing in the garden. We watched the clouds in the sky, the birds flying home and the sun slowly setting .
Suddenly, Ms. Papaya asked me very solemnly,
“Ajji, when you die, will you go up to heaven on a cloud?”
Any talk of my dying and leaving her makes her anxious so I told her it was a long way before that happened.
She seemed satisfied with the answer
But as I watched the clouds floating above, I thought it was a delightful idea to be taken up to heaven on a soft fluffy cloud.
